Windscreen Sealant

I am interested in what folk are using for windscreen sealing.

I was going for PR1425 at £38 for a 100ml semkit. Apparently this is no longer kosher and the 'Green' alternative is £134 +VAT!!! for the same 100ml. :(

I want to avoid silicone as it is a brute to clean off if you need to paint/touch-up at a later date.

All ideas or sources for PR1425-B2 eagerly awaited even if the batch is out of date.

Many thanks

Frank Cox

Hey Frank ,
I may be able to help you here , but will PM you with details.
Incidentally mate , what is it for ? The only reason I ask is because we use that stuff for sealing B747 cockpit side windows . I don't somehow envisage that you'll be bowling along in a homebuild doing 550mph , but if that's what your project specifies , then so be it.
As a matter of interest , I restored an old Willys Jeep a couple of years back and needed to replace a smashed windscreen half . I sealed it with a fillet of black RTV which was squeezed into the channel of the windscreen frame . Was and still is perfect.
OK , I know that I've quoted ridiculous extremes here , what with one good for 550mph and my Jeeps top speed about 1/10 of that , but RTV is very user friendly stuff and easy to work with and PR1425 is bloody 'orrible stuff.
PM on way,,, :D
Rgds Chris

Thanks Tony for the link -
However this is classified as 'Dangerous goods' - I don't know why - so, expensive to ship.

Sealing what on what and how ?

If it is perspex to just about anything, then Sikaflex 295UV is probably the best. It is what is used on RV's and adheres well to metal, plastic or wood.
