Jodel 1050 fuel drains

Post by CWilc » Tue Jun 19, 2018 10:25 pm

Anyone know the correct fuel drain size for a Jodel 1050 as one of ours is dripping and LAS have several sizes?
Thanks, Colin Wilcock

My drawings show NF(AFNOR) M16 diam 1.50 pitch thread in the bottom of the rear tank and the drain tube at the firewall for the front tank.

My drains are supplied by Le Bozec (LB) and marked with 56077 and 10-73. Nothing from LAS seems to match that.

BTW, does it actually need replacing? Mine have a O seal, that can be replaced. Currently rock hard an solidly attached to the drain  , so no viable measurement could be taken. Use an Ethanol proof one, just in case :D Let me know what you use as I will be going down that route before I put the systems back together.

If replacement is needed, you could use this adaptor and use a standard valve? http://sandalwoodservices.com/robin-fue ... 2265-p.asp

Hi Ian,
Thanks for the data sad that LAS can't help. We have a slight weep from the front drain, and were hoping to be able to get a spare so that we can easily replace a leaking drain. Ours are also 56077, and I can't find any replacements with that number. Adapter seems expensive as it has a form 1 and we would also need a Curtis valve - but may go down that route as we share a hangar. Will let you know what we do - LAS do indicate that they have some o rings so may check with them to see if they would fit.

Hi Ian,
As promised, we have decided to replace the drain valves with adapters and Curtis valves as this would seem to be the most future proof.
