Good FRP repairer in SE?

Post by mwylde » Sat Oct 13, 2018 10:00 pm

Having replaced a 582 in a Kitfox with a 912 I needed the nose cowls (the big round variant) lengthened about 50mm. I gave the job to a local aircraft/classic car restorer (as I know from experience that FRP and I do not get on at all!)
I don't think it's particularly complex and it's cosmetic not structural but he's made a dreadful mess of it - the wrong profile, lumps and bumps, inadequate scarfing and extensive voids and delamination. I think it will be necessary to cut off what he's done and start again.
Can anyone recommend someone genuinely competent for this please? In the Brighton area would be a bonus.
Thanks.
