Wing to Fuselage Gap - Rubber Strip?

Post by LSHAvenger18 » Wed Mar 20, 2019 5:41 pm

Hi,

has anybody got information on where to find some rubber strip to wrap around the wing to fuselage joint please?

It happens to be on an Auster, but I am sure many aircraft need the same strip.

Initially the gap is taped, then the rubber strip laid on, held in place with a sprung steel band.

I would say it needs to be around 12cm across, maybe a couple of metres in length - will check again.

Is it something we can buy on a roll?

Many thanks,

Simon

Thanks Frank.

I have found some rolls for sale on ebay at £30 for 12cm wide, 5-10 metres, 3mm thick, neoprene rubber with cloth reinforcement.
Provided my engineer approves, looks like it might be fit.
