Super Cub Parts

Post by Mal Gibson » Mon Jul 01, 2019 3:20 pm

Could anyone kindly point me towards someone in the UK who can supply hardware for a PA18. I need a Clevis (bracket?) for the upper tailplane bracing wire, the one attached to the fin. In the Univair catalogue, it is part number U61341-003 and appears to be 40521-08 in the Piper manual.
Thanks in anticipation

Hi Mal,

Almost guarantee you will need to order direct from Univair. I had to do this myself a few month ago for my PA17.
Univair are very helpful and you can order on line and they take credit cards.

Hi Mal,
I had to replace them all on our PA17. Opted for the stainless steel version. The only supplier I found was Univair. It is possible to make your own?

Thanks for the replies chaps. Guess I was hoping that I could source in the UK and avoid the shipping cost from Univair. I contacted LAS but they didn't seem to know the parts in question and haven't got back to me yet. Our PA18 is not with the LAA so making our own is not an option.
Thanks

Hi Mal,

I had to order these parts and some other bits associated with the tailplane brace wires and the shipping cost came to $30. Ask Univair to send by USPS or cheaper normal post if you aren't in a hurry.
