Jodels and modifications

Post by Dominicpriestley » Tue Sep 30, 2008 5:28 pm

Hi All,

We are looking to purchase a Jodel. The 1050 really fits the bill for what we want the aircraft to do. Unfortunately we had a sit in one at the weekend and our heads were touching the canopy. Leg room etc was fine.

My question is....

Has anybody here modified the seats so they are not on the rails but directly onto the spar. Is this possible?

Our other Idea is to have a new canopy made, with a slight bubble where our heads were touching, again is this possible? Anybody have contact details for a canopy manufacturer?

Many Thanks for any help you can offer.

Hi Dom,

our 1050 seems to accomodate quite tall pilots as the doors do have a 3 dimensional curve to the plexiglass to give more headroom. It is at Benson if that is convenient for you to try or expect to be at Dunkeswell Saturday and Popham Sunday.
