Acro VW 1834 Fuel Flow- FRED

Post by MarkSharp » Thu Mar 04, 2021 9:21 am

Hi folks,

Could anyone provide me with the theoretical max fuel consumption for this engine in order to prove adequate fuel flow to the carb. Its for a long dormant FRED project of a late family friend (see other thread from my partner in crime). The tank is on the wing centre section, so I'm hoping there is enough gravity head to dispense with the mech fuel pump.

Thanks,
Mark Sharp

I suggest Barry Smith, at Yearby, would be the man to ask!
Look at www.acro.co.uk. Good luck.

Most of these engines burn 15-20LpH. Assume double that & you have plenty of reserves.
The LAA provide a fuel flow check sheet via the technical link.
