Could someone tell me the tyre pressures for a tri-gear Europa?
(Nose and main if they are different.)
And also the breakout force for the nosewheel to swivel?
Thanks in advance
Chris

Hope this helps.
Manual says:
To set the shimmy damper stiffness a spring balance, or other suitable device, which is capable of registering loads of up to 10 Kg, is required. With the nose wheel clear of the ground a load of between 8 and 9 Kg (18 - 20 lb) should be required, as measured at the back of the nose wheel tyre, (not the axle), to overcome the friction force produced by the shimmy damper. Adjust the nut to obtain the correct damping friction then install the split pin. This setting should be checked regularly; you will soon become used to what feels too tight or too loose.

Tire pressure for correct inflation - 30 psi (2.0 bar). Leave for 24 hours then check again.

Gerry

Post Script.
I think we may have tried a sort of anti-shimmy grease from a specialist Supplier to use on Nose Wheel castoring mechanism. The grease came from some Industrial application or another. Search for information but no luck.

Thanks for that I just couldn't find a manual on the Internet.
I see that someone has used NyoGel grease on the upper surface to damp the movement of the nosewheel - but they didn't say which number (i.e. 767)
Thanks again
Chris
