I just had a quote to repair a BTH mag on a Gipsy Major from Deltair > Now remember this is plus parts postage and VAT....
£1200! I reckon that's £300 an hour.
Nice work if you can get it.

The company you mention cost me 14k for an engine overhaul some 20 years ago - I had to have it overhauled again at half the price without ever installing it - a mutitude of serious discrepancies - a bent camshaft and main bearings out of limits among many others - long story, They still have the same accountable manager. DON'T GO NEAR THEM.

I have just had a mag checked and sorted by Soar Aviation (Steve Hodge) near Honiton - [email protected] - Maybe worth your while.

Good luck

Frank

I tried online and Soar come up as dissolved. When did you use them last? As to Deltair when I needed a new crank fitted due to poor installation by a CAA approved company before I got it, they wanted £8000 for labour on a job that took us 4 man days from stripped to prop turning ;-)

Rob, - You must have been looking at the Australian version of Soar Aviation who did go insolvant.
I picked up my mag a month ago. There were no signs that anything was amiss. In fact quite the oposite - full of optimism for the future. His phone is 07890 five one nine 924 should you wish to speak. ( https://www.linkedin.com/in/steven-hodge-073a38125/ )
