VPX vs GAD 27 for Trim/Flaps on and RV7

We're Building and RV 7 and have installed a VPX Sport along with the GAD 27.
I am interested in anyone's experience with a similar setup in an RV.
Eventually we will want to be able operate at Night/IFR.
My query is about the Trim and Flaps, should they go through the GAD 27 or VPX?
