Panel Upgrade

As a new owner of an old A22 Foxbat I was wondering if anyone had any advice on Panel Upgrades.

I have all steam gauges and adecent Trig Radio/Transponder combo.

Garmin/Dynon/Avmap/MGL all offer great looking solutions - As weight is a consideration is a large glass replacement and a nice EMS the best option here?

And LAA help - Do I need to get approval before starting or after completing :)
