Glass DGI

I don’t know if this is a stupid question, but can you a glass DI?

I don't have a GPS, so I can’t have a EHSI, nor do I want one, but my DGI is awful and needs replacement, and it seems a bit silly in this day and age to replace it with a mechanical gyro, when a digital one would work better, be lighter and be cheaper.

but can you a glass DI?
Sorry T, don't understand the question. Can you rephrase it?
I am assuming DGI is a directional gyro(DG) combined with a direction indicator (DI)?

Cheers

Sorry, strictly I should have written replacing the mechanical DGI with a glass DI, but I think what I'll do is fit a Kanardia HORIS and have only a track reference. We will still have the magnetic compass if we need to know magnetic heading, but, for most purposes a track indicator will be fine.

Sounds like a pragmatic solution.

HORIS AHRS is very good. I have one.
You also get an AH, DI, ASI, altimeter and G meter.
DI display is GPS derived.
