Help with a RANS S6 Coyote build at Stansted Airport College

Post by andre faehndrich » Thu Nov 02, 2023 1:29 pm

Andre Faehndrich, a long time STEM Ambassador, and working as The Plane Guy (www.theplaneguy.com) is looking for a couple of LAA volunteer builders to help with the building of a RANS S6ES Coyote II aircraft, at Stansted Airport College (STAC).

This aircraft, is one of 39 known Youth Build-a-Plane projects in the UK and Ireland. (A summary is available if interested).

The aircraft is being built by a small group of up to 6 youngsters from STAC allocated to the build, with Andre and a Ryanair engineer (with currently limited availability) leading.

So far the fuselage & tail have been completed, but now need to build the port and starboard wings, flaps and ailerons, the wing struts, install the instruments, and then complete the engine installation including the cowlings & exhaust system.

We are looking for some support from local AOPA members to continue the build. We already have an LAA inspector allocated to the project.

Build times are every Wednesday afternoon between 12:00 and 15:00, with gaps for half terms, Xmas and Easter.
