I obtained a PPL way back in about 1975.It of course well lapsed.But would the CAA be able to trace it?How far do the records go back?

They do have an old microfiche based system that they switched from but can access. However, they do seem to have problems finding the right records so provide as much information as you can to help them make a "hit".

John,
Do you have any records yourself, ie your Old Licence or Log Book that was stamped by your old flying school when you finished your training?

If I had I'm sure I'd have less of a problem,but sadly I lost all my possesions in a disasterous flood in Thailand some years ago.
