Garmin Pilot 3 Satnavs

Garmin have told me that they will no longer repair their Pilot 3 units.
This was rather a surprise as I know that I am not alone in still flying with this wonderful bit of kit. Does anyone know if they can be serviced elsewhere?

Depends what's wrong with it. The most common problem is the internal back up battery failing. This is a relatively easy fix for someone with a soldering iron and some level of dexterity.
