LAA/RSA event at Duxford/St Omer?

Post by ChampChump » Sat Dec 03, 2011 12:55 am

Maybe this question should be in Fly-Ins, but can Brian or anyone put any detail on this RSA/LAA anniversary event listed in the Royal Aero Club events? We are intrigued....and available....

Hi Nic, details in the next mag but briefly a Duxford LAA Bonus Day on June 9th when RSA members will be invited over. Then they and LAA members will fly to St Omer later in the day for an evening dinner to celebrate 65 years of LAA and RSA. This is a joint LAA/RSA arranged event, us looking after the UK end and they the French arrangements. The RSA guys were keen to visit Duxford and the airfield has been very obliging in agreeing an LAA Bonus Day, so we have a reduced rate fly-in open to allcomers, plus an onward trip to France for those who wish to take part.

Thanks Brian, prompt, informative and succinct as ever!

It's on the calendar, in the filofax, etc etc (several versions, none of them being aged-brainproof).

Sounds like it could be a good event. Great place to visit Duxford. However I hope it will be an open fly-in without the usual Duxford slot restrictions and with accessable parking on the museum side, so we can look at each others aircraft and not be pushed off into a minibus away from the aircraft parking area like you are on Airshow days and helitech. Also hopefully the better Duxford FISOs will be on duty, not the one who cant cope with more than 1 movement every 3 minutes!
Im sure Brian and team will sort them out!!
