3 axis microlight with folding wings

Post by M52 » Fri Mar 08, 2013 1:13 pm

A long standing friend wishes to take up microlighting. He owns a suitable field which has a storage facility. He was thinking of buying a weight shift microlight which would easily fit through the 10ft wide door once the wing was removed but has decided he would rather fly a three axis machine. Question is are there any 3 axis microlights available on the market which have folding wings or wings that can be removed and refitted quickly and easily like a weight shift microlight that are available on the second hand market for under 10k??

Rans S6 with the 503 might get under the £10k threshold. One man can fold the wings to approx. 6 ft width or so & no great height either.

More money brings a quick fold Escapade, Avid, kitfox etc. All these are clones on the wingfold theme and are a few mm under 8 ft wide. Again not very high.

New kits all cost more, but the Trail has easy fold, but needs a bit more height.
