Training for an FI rating in a permit a/c

Post by Flapperons » Wed May 15, 2013 9:07 am

I have always wanted to become a Flying Instructor, now the rules have changed this has become a realistic goal for me.

The question I have is can any of the training for the grant of a Flying Instructors rating be done in my own permit aircraft. I have had a look at the ANO but it's not the easiest document to extract information from.

Can the LAA coaching scheme help towards the grant of an FI rating?

I have written TL2.09 which provides a summary of the current situation with regard to flight training in Permit to Fly aircraft.

http://www.lightaircraftassociation.co. ... rcraft.pdf

Article 259(2) is where the ANO allows remunerated flight training in a sole owned aircraft. All of the training and test may be conducted in an LAA aircraft, providing it is suitably equipped.

Let me know if you need any further advice about training for the FI rating.
