I was very pleased to see that Mike Barnard has taken up a position at the CAA. What with all the potential 'gotchas' that could possibly affect us from the Euro-Meddlers , it is comforting to know that we have someone batting on our side who is conversant with 'our' type of aviation .
I know that the CAA has been lambasted in the past, especially from the piloting fraternity, but despite this , there are a lot of GA friendly folk within the organisation, just look at the input of Rod Dean re; the NPPL introduction .
I do wonder if there is a similar problem within EASA, are they hell-bent on over regulating us ? or is it just that they have very little knowledge of the grass-roots end of aviation.
OK , I'm not a great supporter of the Permit/IFR proposal which I know Mike has been a champion of, but I feel that he will be an excellent representative for GA within the CAA.
