Operating a Tiger Moth

Post by Nordic Flyer » Thu Dec 05, 2013 7:43 pm

We are a group thinking about purchasing a Tiger Moth. We have experience of operating Cubs/Jodels and would like any information on Tiger Moth specifics regarding operating and maintaining the aircraft and the Gipsy Major engine.

Any tips?

Thanks,

Join the de Havilland Moth Club! They have lots of good information and run a few courses on Moth care and maintenance and flying and also produce some training videos.
Perhaps also ask the Tiger Club and Cambridge School of flying who both operate Tiger Moths

Cambridge Flying Group rather than Cambridge School of Flying. Great aircraft (two) and tons of experience and wisdom in operating Tigers.

I have a share in a tiger moth [and a Champ] operating out of Old Sarum. If you are reasonably local lob up there on any decent weekend and you likely to find me around flying or fettling one or the other. Otherwise pm me off line.
