Importing a kit from the USA

Hi,
I am seeking some advice with importing a kit (not Vans) from the USA.The process seems quite a minefield.
Has anyone got any recommendations for a Shipping/handling agent who are used to this sort of thing?
What other 'gotcha's can I expect to come across?..I am particularly thinking of the dealings with HMRC.

Alan,

I can't help with shippers/handling agents but you should be able to import your kit, under "Simplified Procedures" free of import duty as per HMRC Code 40 00 028. Unfortunately you will have to pay VAT.
As long as you don't use this process more than, I think, 3 times per year then the "Simplified Process" should work for you.
