Importing from Germany/Holland

I am looking for an RV, preferably a 7 but have seen a 6 advertised on the Dutch register, any idea how easy/difficult it will be to bring it to the UK and get it on an LAA permit?

Hi Foxmoth, any import will have to have a thorough inspection before it can be considered for an LAA Permit. With a popular design like an RV, provided it conforms to the UK approval - i.e. it hasn't had modifications carried out that have not been approved in the UK, as long as the build quality is good then in theory at least it shouldn't be too difficult. I suggest you contact LAA engineering to have a chat about the import procedure. You could also post on the RV forum, a fair number of RVs have been imported over the years and there may be one or two owners who have done it and can offer some advice.
