Licence - Medical and flying to France.
I fly a Group A Single Seat Permit Aircraft on an LAPL and now at 70+ with a CAA Self Declaration Medical.
I've asked other Pilots and in every case seem to have a different answer so......
Can I fly to France with that combination?
I believe I can on an Microlight NPPL with Self Declaration?
Regards
Gerry

Have clarified the situation now albeit it could all change!
I need an LAPL Class 2 Medical to gain entry to France in LAA Aircraft.

Not sure what you mean Ian. I'm very senior today!
I have an LAPL and fly an Annex 2 (LAA) Aircraft. Had LAPL Class 2 Medical until June last year but blood pressure marginal so elected for Self declaration. At moment I would need Class 2 medical again to fly to France.

At the moment you can't fly in EASA land on a self declaration.
See CAP 1441.

Gerry, there is no such thing as a LAPL Class 2, you held an EASA LAPL medical or an EASA Class 2 medical
As far as I know, you only need an EASA LAPL medical to fly in France with your EASA LAPL Licence.
Note: there is not actually a massive difference between the EASA LAPL Medical and EASA Class 2 Medical.

Only if your single seater has a MTOW of 300kg and a maximum stall speed of 35kt in landing configuration.Gerry Holland wrote: I believe I can on an Microlight NPPL with Self Declaration?

Microlight pilots with a valid licence are not required to have a medical certificate, even a self declaration, to fly in France.

Donald - Ian. Thanks for information.
My AME referred to it as Class 2 Medical so I continued the name. EASA it is.
Scotland it will be for this years expedition.
Thanks
Gerry
