FlyCovered Insurance cover ending

Post by 2greens1red » Sat May 03, 2025 3:39 pm

Our 5-member group has been insured with FlyCovered, but they're no longer offering renewals.

We've asked for quotes from Visicover (expensive); LAA's scheme (rather eccentric mix of French and English terminology, but importantly very low 3rd Party cover - min. CAA requirement - though Crown Indemnity is included); Traffords replied by return, and the quote was 25% cheaper than Visicover.

We do realise that 'cheaper' in the field of aircraft insurance is not necessarilly "better", but Traffords' cover appears to offer everything one needs, though we didn't research "new for old" as an extra feature.

We also tried Haywards, but couldn't make sense of their website, and gave up.

I'm sure other experiences differ....

I used to insure with CSP and had friendly service from them (never had a claim though). I then tried Visicover at a renewal and their quote was significantly cheaper.

I've been with Visicover for a few years and find them easy to deal with (again, never had a claim). At this year's renewal I thought I'd give CSP a try but their quote was about 30% higher than the Visicover renewal.

I remain with Visicover...
