I recently had a problem with fuel flow and suspected a problem with the float shutoff needle valve. (as it turned out that wasn't the problem.)
I called Skydrive and was quoted £25.74 + VAT for a replacement valve (EACH!)
WOW!
After speaking to a flyer from the same field who had recently had problems with his Jabiru and had bought Bing parts from a company called Scriminger (on the web) I contacted them and after giving them the Bing carb type number I was quoted £7 + VAT for the same part.
Easy question , how come more than 3 times more expensive for the same part???? Is ripping off the customer part of the thankyou process for buying that brand of engine from them in the first place?
Seems to be a similar scenario to the one where I enquired about a replacement radiator cap and was quoted £40 or thereabouts for a cap. Another good joke. We all know it doesnt cost £40 for a radiator cap. Fortunately I sourced the correct item from the people that actually make them for a fraction of the cost.
No doubt somone will reply with a fantastic explanation.
