What do I have to report to whom?

I recently had an excursion from my home runway. The U/C is a little bent but we pushed the plane out of the field and taxied it back to the hangar.

Is this worthy of reporting? If so who to? I recall binning a sheet of paper that comes with some periodicals thinking I hope I don't need that ever....
Maybe I do now?

I think that is within the definition of an accident therefore should be reported to the AAIB and also a "mandatory occourence refort "filed with the CAA

It has a link to the Civil Aviation (Investigation of Air Accidents and Incidents) Regulations 1996 that defines an "accident" that needs to be reported.

P.S. given the mention of "mandatory occurrence reports" to the CAA, CAP382 gives the applicability.

Having made it "public" on here I would report it. There are no repercussions if you do,its not like you will get " three points".
If you are still in doubt ,phone the ARB and they will tell you if they want a report. I've dealt with them on a couple of occassions and you will find them pleasant and it is actually a good learning exercise.Don't get them confused with "The Old Bill", they are not !

Clive, at least you said something rather than trying to sweep it under the carpet, well done ! And as above you will need to do an "occurance" report, nothing serious but we all learn from are mistakes when thing go "pear shaped".

B.T.W.,Contact your inspector, he needs to release the aircraft back to service to keep you legal (and therefor insured!). He may be able to help with the report as well.
