Lithuania to Kampala in an AN.2 - EM Strut Mon 6 April

Post by ColinC » Thu Apr 02, 2009 8:11 pm

Apologies for posting this both here and in the Struts section but I thought it worth promoting this as hard as possible as other people who have seen the talk were so impressed.

The speaker for the East Midlands Strut meeting on Monday 6th April is John Calverley. His talk will be about his epic flight in an Antonov AN.2 from Lithuania to Kampala. It will be liberally illustrated and have a musical slide show for the intro and beer break.

This talk comes highly recommended - please come along.

Please also bring a friend or two along too. It is one of those rare talk which are so factual, and it blows away one or two myths about flying across Africa but also raises some doubts about what happens in the event of an unscheduled landing.

As usual the meeting venue is the Plough at Normanton-on-Soar. Meet from 7.30 pm for an 8.00pm start.
