LAA aircraft identification plates

LAA aircraft identification plates
can these plates be used as described as aircraft identification plates.
i have one on my aircraft which is going through final inspection but my LAA inspector says that it is not fire proof and therefore not suitable???

Hi Dave, the ally data plates were never intended to replace the fireproof stainless registration plate. They are simply a means of showing the heritage of the aircraft - serial number, year of manufatcure, the fact that it is an LAA machine, etc - just like factory builts aircraft have.
You still need a small stainless plate with the aircraft reg, nothing else need be put on it.
