Buying/selling aircraft and time wasters

Post by J.C. » Tue Dec 08, 2009 8:19 am

Over the last few weeks this seems to have risen to new heights. I recently put my Moni up for sale ( reluctantly) because I thought I was going on short time at work.In the event that didn't happen so I took the Moni off sale, but not before I had some bizzare comments from someone posing as a potential buyer.I removed the ad from afors.

Shortly afterwards, another ad appeared for a Moni, and sure enough this guy suffered from the same abuse that I had.The potential (?) purchaser then went on to berate Monnett in general and pointed out that Monis are death traps.(even though he still claimed to be wanting to buy one!)

Another person posted a reply saying that he had exactly the same problem with this person trying to scupper him selling a plane a short while back.By now the advert is looking more like a chat forum!

Now we can only guess what this guys problem is, he appears to have a grudge against a previous owner of all 3 aircraft, or he has a grudge against the website, or he thinks he is being clever by stopping others from buying in order that he can then make a low offer.

What ever his motive, he is being a pain in the a**e and is doing no good to people that are LAA members. Furthermore he has accused me and others of massaging the truth ( I take the utmost offence at this) whilst hiding behind his anonymous postings.
He claims to have been an aircraft owner for 40 years and to have owned a dozen aircraft it appears his name is Dan Frene.

Does anyone on here know him? if so please introduce him to me in order that I may point out the error of his ways.
I would also advise all other Inspectors to give him a wide birth if he approaches you for help. he has publicly questioned my integrity and will probably do the same to you given the chance.

Buying /Selling aircraft Time wasters

Post by Mike Fawdrey » Fri Dec 11, 2009 10:11 pm

Hi Folks,
I dont know whether it is the same person but on Afors there seem to be a number of visitors who seem trying to queer the pitch so to speak to stop people selling, not just on the Moni.
Someone trying to sell a Shadow had the same sort of treatment, the person asking the cryptic questions did not seem to listen to the answers.

I recently read a very old copy of Pilot which did a flight test on the Moni and it seemed a good aeroplane to me.

Regards Mike

Mike,

Any chance you could scan/photo the article for us to have a look? I've always been interested in the Moni in principle but have never managed to track down any sort of review.

Cheers,
Andy

Hello chaps,

I'd love to see that flight test too if it's possible to get a copy?

Cheers
