You have probably found out by now if you are moving forward. However I had an aircraft on the Dutch register prior to having it on the UK and a G reg (it was built here, long story). The CAA would only give me 28 days in a year to fly it.
That is a total so I split the time into small periods to get the flying done we needed.
Not sure if that has changed, maybe it had but I doubt it. It was, I think, to stop foreign homebuilts being based here rather than being assessed and moved to UK register. Don't think the fact the RV4 is in the LAA fleet will make any odds.
As you know there are some lovely homebuilt and kitbuilt planes in Europe but they can't come to UK without EASA cert or 28 day limit. Strange, I thought we were in Europe...though glad we are leaving.
You can always just do it, I did consider that myself bit there would be insurance implications for sure.
