Well said Gasax. If extending the limited company helps EC feel a little safer then it has to be a good thing. Just as long as we don't forget LAA should still remain an association in spirit if not in law.

“LAA should still remain an association in spirit”
Perhaps we are too big to work as an association? Perhaps we should split the engineering / rest to reduce the size or simply accept that we run as a commercial operation. Maybe we need to go back to basics. (Apologize for the thread drift).

The BMAA have decided to keep their forum open, which is very intresting. Full statement below;
Dear All
at the meeting today Council further discussed the future of this forum and reconsidered their earlier decision to close it to all but BMAA members.
After this discussion a proposal was made to leave the forum open to all and to create a new section for BMAA members only. Within the new area will be two sections to start with, one would be for "member chat", similar to general chat in the public area and the other would be a Council forum where members can discuss things with and ask questions of, BMAA Council members. It should be noted that not all Council members will be available all the time but hopefully as many as are able will try to be available when their other committments allow.
It was further decided that the level of moderation in the public areas will be stepped up.
A message will also be posted on the Yahoo e-group to the effect that Council has decided to keep it open so that those who prefer the e-mail system can continue to enjoy it.
Regards to all

Hangar chat horrors !
Make the Hangar Chat forum members only - solves that problem.
I tend to agree that it probably has a bad impact on outsiders, but this is largely because the on-line face of the LAA needs some TLC.
A simple example

And why the pertetual mug short of Francis on the home page, I guess that's just laziness.
Someone please go and drag a senior EC member into the 2009, you want to sell something, you have to use the internet effectively
