Bleriot Warnings / Restrictions 20th - 29th July

Post by FlyOnTrack » Fri Jul 17, 2009 6:18 pm

I've put up any restriction or warning links I know about the "Bleriot period" on FlyOnTrack Hot News http://www.flyontrack.co.uk including the Kent restriction on the 25th. As many of you know there are mass microlight flights all the way up to Sywell and back from France. One main point to note is that the French start their airspace restrictions from July 20th right through to the 29th inclusive - the french AIC in English is https://www.sia.aviation-civile.gouv.fr ... 112_EN.pdf and note the restricted areas from the Belgian border all the way to west of Le Touquet (and 48 hour PPR for the latter) - so check that if anyone is flying over the Channel anytime 20th - 29th inclusive.

Another totally unreasonable blockage of vast amount ofairspace. Interesting to see if it is full of traffic -all day.

I thank you for making us aware

Actually, I've only just read the full detail of the French AIC, (as I won't be going anyway) and one of the conditions for access into the Le Touquet restricted area for VFR is:

filed a request before July 19, 2009 at. 22H00 UTC

The 48 hour bit is about getting a PPR number presumably having done the above first.

ALSO: Notice the AIC detail only gives a few days as definite, and then says other times by NOTAM.

Just found the email address inb the French AIC for 'permissions' is wrong! If you want to transit the area, you are supposed to email
[email protected]
by tonight - the address they give on the AIC for this doesn't exist, it is missing the '2009' (at the time of writing)
