2 consultations on removing VORs and charging for VHF freqs

Post by John Brady » Tue Nov 03, 2009 10:09 am

Penny has just put briefing notes on these 2 issues on the consultation pages that you can access from the link on the left sidebar.

The first is a CAA consultation on a NATS proposal to remove 27 of the 46 en-route VORs (as well as all en-route NDBs). This is a first stage to inform debate with the CAA prior to a full public consultation.

Please note that we are looking for a volunteer to represent the LAA on the focus group the CAA intends to use to advise it on the way forward on this. Don't be shy, we need your help here. Contact us at [email protected]

The second is an OFCOM consultation on charging for maritime VHF channels but it contains the principles that would be applied to charging for aeronautical VHF frequencies. We know a consultation on aeronautical charging will be out quite soon but we would like you to let OFCOM know what you think of the principles, lest they suggest that we did not challenge them when first published.

Thanks as ever, John

Quick note.

The OFCOM consultation has now been extended until 11 December 2009 to give all consultees further time.

John.
