Comp: 3 new (Ed 12) VFR qtr-mil England South to be won

Post by FlyOnTrack » Mon Mar 10, 2008 5:07 pm

Usual deal:
"Easy to enter" competition, CAA provide 3 charts as prizes, Flyontrack runs a competition to hand them out, This time it is the new England South quarter million scale chart (Edition 12)

See http://www.flyontrack.co.uk home page and look for the big yellow question mark

Note - new list of 'known restrictions' for 2008 (compiled Feb 29th) is also there, so you can for example check out known Red Arrows displays, etc. in advance (look for a pair of eyes).

This is outrageous and Northist. You should be offering a balanced competition to enable us up 'ere to navigate equally as well as the shandy swilling Southerners.

Yet another example of the Southist attitude of the Ministry - Hah 8)

Mike, you should consider it as an opportunity to come down out of the caves to see how the other half live!

Just coinciding with the new Southern England Chart issue - do you want a comp for an old non-updated Northern one then?

I used to have an old Northern Chart once.

There's nowt so queer as folk, I hear!

Read the small print :

THREE free copies of the brand new 'England South' 1:250000 scale VFR chart (New Edition 12) to be won in a competition, courtesy of the CAA who provide them. (Note the Half Mil South chart has been delayed until April). Click on the question mark on the left to see two very simple questions, which you can answer by e-mail. Answers (which can be found on this site) must be submitted by the end of March 21st 2008. Simple rules - one entry per person, and winners must reply to any winning notifcation within a week with a UK or Channel Islands address, or a prize may be re-drawn.
The next CAA VFR chart issue will be offered in the same way - 3 copies, 3 winners.

I guess you'll need to search elsewhere for discrimination against those north of Sheffield & Manchester :o

Well, nice try, but I was brought up next to Headingley cricket ground! Also, the facts:

May 2007: 3 copies of North England / NI Half Mil offered/won (1-0 against southerners)
June 2007: 3 copies of North Ireland Qtr Mil offered/won (2-0)
August 2007: 3 copies of SW England / S Wales Qtr Mil offered/won (2-1)
Jan 2008: 3 copies of Scotland Half Mil offered/won (3-1)
Mar 2008: 3 copies of England South Qtr Mil offered/won (3-2)

Current score: 3-2 for northern end of the country.

April 2008: 2 competitions about to open this week, one for Half Mil Southern, one for Qtr Mil Borders. Predicted score by mid April: 4-3 for northern end of country.

You see, 3-2 is a 50% bias against southerners, and expected to reduce to a mere 33.333% bias in two weeks time.

Ps: And speaking of Shandy swillers, I went back to Headingley 3 months ago looking forwards to having a really enjoyable beer in the Original Oak, an experience much spoiled by the fact that they have removed all hand pumps! What is going on???
