Aircraft Shares.

Post by Adrien Kentzer » Tue Aug 03, 2010 4:00 pm

Hi Folks,

I am thinking of selling a half share in my airplane to a chap from our airfield. As we're both new to this 'share' thingy, I was hoping someone may be able to steer us in the right direction with regards to legal forms and/or documents we need to satisfy both parties. All information will be gratefully received.
many thanks

Usual starting point of such an arrangement is: am I (or my estate) liable if my partner kills/maims me or any other innocent bystander?
A limited company may be the way to go.

Cheers

With all due respect, I don't think that's a common view of group ownership. Careful consideration of your insurance policy will probably set your mind at rest

I suggest having a written agreement you can both (all) sign up to - I thought there was one somewhere on the LAA site but I can't find it.

My experience of group ownership has been pretty positive (2 in total, so not extensive I admit) but do consider the possible downsides as well as the benefits.
