ST.Omer...URGENT

Post by J.C. » Thu Aug 19, 2010 7:21 am

Following up my letter to the French authorities and talks to the guys at St.Omer, Phillipe and the crew are on the case to get a blanket exemption for factory built permit a/c for the fly in in September.
We urgently need numbers to strengthen the case.
If you are put off going, or know anyone else who is please register here on the forum.
I need this information as soon as possible, not much time to go!
Please anyone reading this spread the word and get back as a matter of urgency. :)

G-BJOT and G-AYUT want to go, but not without the dispensation.

Thank you for your efforts too

Update..as of 5pm this evening it looks like we may be able to get a blanket exemption.
Obviously there is not much time. I need a/c and owner details for all those wanting to take advantage.
Book now even if its only a chance you will go, it will be too late nearer the date.
Please spread the word as I am up against it timewise. :D

Thanks for doing the chores John.
My Linnet G-ASZR would like to go, and Jodel D140 Mousquetaire G-AROW (Tony Crome up) would too, I suspect.

Thanks John, I also e-mailed Philippe to see about a temporary blanket exemption to this. I would like to take my D117 G-ATIZ but have booked in, in a spam can for now.
Any idea how this is affecting numbers going?

Hi John, I thought after you rang today, if you check the St Omer Aeroclub website there is a list of those registered, and hence factory builts that would make use of the exemtion.
Rds, Brian.

Jodel DR1051 G-AYLF would like to be added to the blanket exemption list please.

Although I have not managed to contact him yet, Les Daglish in his 1050 G-AWWN will also be going.

John,

No matter what comes of this you are a star for making it happen.

Many thanks

Steve :D

PS: Brian, where is the list of those registered on the St Omer site?

Can't find it.

I would very much like to go in factory built D1217 G-BDIH but, as said before, not without exemption.

Just had a reply from Philippe, there are 30 registered so far 17 from the UK. No info on how many are Jodels (or other factory built a/c on permit). Not many considering previous years.

Also can't find the list of participants on the St Omer web site????

I have a full list of participants from Gilbert. Problem is 70% register within the last two weeks.
Thank you for those trying to help , but with respect it is easier if one person takes control or we risk the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing. Be assured I am in daily ( hourly) contact with our friends in France and will keep everyone updated .
Meanwhile I need everyone to spread the word and to register

Well Steve I can't find it! Odd because there used to be a list of registered participants. Still, if John is in regular contact he'll know who is registered. Geoff Farr rang the other day John, he intends going in his Mascaret, in case you don't have him down.

Guys I can't do this without the details asked for...please read my post and send me the information requested, e mail preferable so that I can copy it direct or PM

"So and so is going" is not enough info. But please keep spreading the word and get the info to me..

Edited I am going on holiday to a remote island for a week tommorow. Gilbert/ Phillipe etc are aware of this so you will not get any more info on here for 1 week. It would be brilliant to come back to a full mail box with all the requested info! Please keep it coming!
