Acrosport 2

Post by G-SQUO » Tue Aug 24, 2010 6:01 pm

Does anyone know the entry speeds for loops and aileron rolls in the subject aircraft? I am assuming they are different from the Acrosport 1.
A complete list of speeds (if available) would be great.
Also, I could do with the stations for c of g calcs if anyone has them, pilot/pax/baggage/fuel.
Many thanks

Paul,

Reference "c of g calcs if anyone has them,pilot/pax/baggage/fuel" request, surely these would be different for each individual aircraft?

Aerobatics by Neil Williams gives the answer to your question. It is not 42.

I had an aircraft and the stations for pilot, pax, fuel, and baggage were the same for each of the other aircraft of the same type. Sure, the basic empty weight is going to be slightly different for each individual aircraft but the stations 'aft of datum' would be the same for any given type...maybe not, im not sure. Maybe the datum ref point differs from aircraft to aircraft of the same type. Would be good to find this info out.

All of those are variable on a homebuilt, especialy one built from plans. The only way to get the values is to measure them on your actual example.
If your one is currently flying it should have a valid weight and balance sheet. It should also have a limitation sheet as to which aeros it is approved to do.
Without being rude , the fact that you have asked these questions demonstrates your lack of knowledge of the areas that are most likely to kill you. Is this a plane you own or one you are considering buying?
I would suggest that you seek local specialised advice to help you understand what you are getting into, there is bound to be someone in the local strut that can help.
Where are you based? :)

Entry speeds are listed in the TADS document for the aircraft which you can find under Engineering. 120kts works well for loops etc
