Who i sgoing on the LAA Electrics course
Hi Guys,
Am attending the aero electrics course on 16th.
Will be leaving from home (near Breighton) North Yorks, by air if weather favourable, by road if not. Anyone needing a lift either way, drop me a line

There is a full list of local accommodation on the LAA website:

Just a word of warning - Turweston Flight will not allow any inbound aircraft before 9am on the Saturday. I asked and was told not possible to land earlier. Since the class starts at 9am, I'll be driving up in the morning. I did ask the LAA office whether they considered this when setting the start time, but didn't get a reply.

Response from Tutor:
I have decided not to change the timings for a couple of reasons:
· We are very short of time and cannot afford to lose 30 minutes.
· I can see people trying to fly, leaving it to the last minute and getting weather bound and not being able to attend, or arriving very late with all the attendant frustrations.
· In the winter we finish in the dark, so people could not fly out again anyway.

Thanks for the recommendations, in the end I stayed at The King's Head in Syresham a couple of miles towards Silverstone off the old A43. It had a minimal decor, unlike a typical country pub, no horse brasses or similar. The rooms were in a converted stable building next door and were functional but had everything I needed, like big towels. The staff could not have been more enthusiastic and helpful. Also I had a good pint of Greene King IPA on draught ... so I had a few more.
The electrics course gets my recommendation, informative, entertaining, I learnt much and it was good to see what standards can be attained in homebuilts. If you have an interest in your aircraft's electrics then this course is worth your while.
Regards, Alan.
