RSA National fly-in

Post by Nigel Hitchman » Wed Mar 16, 2011 6:38 pm

Ive heard from a couple of sources, that the RSA are no longer holding their fly-in at St. Yan July 7-10, but are currently looking for a new venue and possibly new date. Rumour has it that there will be an announcement in a couple of weeks.
To confuse matters further, it seems that St. Yan airfield are going ahead with some kind of fly-in and exhibition/airshow at St. Yan on the original dates!

If anyone finds out any more, pls let us all know!

Seems RSA has pulled out and will hold its own, probably downsized event at Blois on July 1/3. St Yan may still go on without RSA.

Hi Alan,

If wee wait it till a bit closer to the time then perhaps arrange to meet up? I suspect others will post nearer to the time.

I will be going L2K for lunch on Friday then on to the rally for Friday PM. I will probably leave Sunday AM but have not decided on the rest of the week.

Hi Rod,
I expect to clear through Abbeville, then on to Chartres on Friday the 1st. The Illuminations at Chartres are fantastic. Then pop down to Blois on Saturday.
Will speak to you some time before we fly.

Alan

Small group (four aircraft) going from Farthing Corner. Probably leaving Thursday but no arrangements firmed up yet. See you there.

Weather permitting we'll be there and the biplane lads from Maypole are already off, via C.I. intending to get there eventually. So that's another five aircraft, potentially.

is the English version, sorry, I never can remember how to make that a single word link, but the French version is better, with airfield plan.
I couldn't make the link posted earlier work, so in case it's not just me:

Inspired by my good friend Alan, I made it to Blois and stayed a couple of days to enjoy the sunshine and hospitality.
Spent a day at Oradour-sur-Glane; very surreal
