National PPL to JAR then EASA ?

Post by Simon Handley » Fri Apr 22, 2011 9:37 am

Anyone have any thoughts on the licence topic. I have the old national PPLA, is it better to change this to a JAR now so it will automatically change to an EASA PPLA or wait until the EASA is in place and change then to an EASA PPLA?

Also if you fly on the new EASA when in place will the hrs from permit plane count towards it?

Thanks

Simon

The current situation says you will have to pay to get the JAR licence, and may have to pay again to convert it to an EASA one. The possible advantage is that it may avoid some delay when the EASA licences are being issued.

There's a whole document at the CAA site, far too long a URL, so you can use this short one...
