Nesting season

Post by Gary M » Wed Apr 30, 2008 10:49 pm

I found a birds nest with one egg in it, constructed on top of my PA-17 engine's cylinders this morning. It wasn't there two weeks ago.

I only have a few Zeuss fasteners to twist. If there were a couple of dozen screws, or wired hinges to undo and do up again, there might be circumstances where it would not have been found.

And what's wrong with having to work hard for your boiled egg breakfast......

Good serious message though!

I hope you grounded the 'plane, you do know its illegal to remove the nest whilst there is an egg in it ?
Just carry on paying the hangarage and insurance and send the bill to the RSPB or whoever.

When I took a fuel sample yesterday a tiny bug came out with the fuel. It clearly wasn't compatible with 100LL and quickly kicked the bucket so must have been hiding up in the Curtis valve.
