Does any one have up to date contact details for LeBurg please.
I have emailed the contact given on the website but I'm not sure that is up to date.

John, I asked the same question on the engineering forum.
Through various sources I have heard that Henry is, or has moved to France. I have tried to contact him by email and phone with no response.
The phone number I have is a UK one, so may no longer be any good.

I have to conclude that he no longer has an interest in producing these units If that is the case then it would be nice if he would sell the rights or pass them to the LAA.

Annoying news! Especially as I'm hoping to fit my Leburg set fairly soon. I suspect that, as a business, the Leburg project is a non-starter without the designer. I also doubt that there are enough potential sales to make it anything other than a garden shed business for someone with the right skill set.

I bought mine directly from Dave Mickleburgh after phoning him. He informed me that he had ceased trading then but that he would make them to order, for cash. The result was that mine was considerably cheaper than the website price and I also got to have lunch with Dave and had a tour of his impressive homebuilding facilities. A real gent!

Sadly he was killed a few months later.

When I had a technical problem with my Leburg installation last year, Henry suggested I contact John Winslow ([email protected]). I didn't need to in the end but John might know something.

Is the Leburg system made up of "off the shelf" components that can be put together by our members. Can the "patent" be surrendered to the LAA in order that the association can make a few bob out of marketing the plans.

Bill,
From the pictures it looks as if that is the case, however it is difficult to tell if an IC(ASIC or PIC) chip has been programed. Not that that would be a major issue if we had the code.

Not had the chance to look inside one, and hands on.

I'm pretty certain the chip was programmed by Dave Mickleburgh, I seem to remember seeing the kit when I visited. Almost certainly that info must exist still.

I heard recently that some of the original components used by David M are no longer available but that John Winslow has the capability to test the Leburg controllers and if necessary, upgrade them with new components.

There was a post a little while ago in this thread:

http://www.lightaircraftassociation.co. ... c&start=15

that Roger Callow was aware of the possible revival of the Leburg system but he didn't at the time want to be pressed further as delicate negotiations were going on. Perhaps that is still alive, but I don't know.

If anyone is interested, I've just had the rear oil seal housing drawn by Dave M for use in the installation of the CBR alternator produced in CAD. My local machine shop are making one for me very reasonably ad I can get more done if required. Around £75.00 for a one off, batches would be cheaper of course but I doubt we'd get to 10!

A letter to the mag to get to a wider VW audience would be very beneficial methinks.

If the Leburg units don't go back into production, the market will be very small.

I wasn't suggesting it was a business opportunity Ian! But if anyone wants one I can get it done at cost. The conversion onto CAD didn't cost me anything as a mate did it.

Didn't think it was a business venture. Using the term 'market' to loosly define all those who would like to join in, and keep the cost down.
