Hi Welshman, I have a very loosely wound spring at the moment as a result of not being able to get onto the BB for over a week, I wonder how long that will last!
The old BB archive has not been lost, it is just not at the top of Penny's priority list at the moment to resolve getting it linked to the new BB in some way. That will happen in the fullness of time.
There is another thread that has an explanation about Mode A/C equipment in as yet unfinished/unregistered projects, there being a concession gained by LAA from CAA for their acceptance.

Just a passing thought - but is Bulleting Board really the correct name for this place?
Everywhere else I use (and there are many) call the facility this software provides a "forum".
A bulletin board is an inanimate object which notices are attached to for others to see. It is a form of one-way communication.
A forum is an interactive meeting of persons.
Perhaps a trivial point to some peoples' minds but I'm quite exacting like that and I feel that Bulletin Board is a misnomer which can only detriment this facility. A Forum is, to me at least, a more accurate and inviting term.

conversion of UBB to phpBB
It is perfectly feasible to migrate all the old Ultimate BB data into the new phpBB. It simply requires someone with the requisite skills and access permissions to both databases to do it. I do this kind of work routinely, as required. It's not a bad idea to be using the current version of the application too - that is phpBB 3.0.0 !

No expert on BBs but I've been trying out PHPBB3 on a spare Linux box to get a handle on it's capabilities. I think it only came out in December which may explain why this is still running PHPBB2. Latest version might help with those dodgy viagra registrations.
Re merging the posts from the old BB here, excellent way to sort out the old BB retention issue. It would increase the utility of the the new BB considerably. We are already seeing people referring others to the old BB for information.
