There have been recent postings about pursuing LAA approval for IMC operations etc. Have a look here about a South African team's around the world adventure in a Sling 4. Their blog makes for some very interesting reading....

actually theyve already done it once in 2009, in the prototype which I think was a 2 seater. quite a feat, but as you quote a number have done it before, but then again hundreds of thousands havent!
