Flying into Le Treport LFAE

Post by mbarnard » Fri Sep 02, 2011 2:06 pm

Just back from Le Treport LFAE, 28nm south of Le Touquet. If you've never been there I can throughly recommend it. The airport is restricted to based aircraft and those from certain local aerodromes, but a quick call to the French DGAC in the form of the helpful English-speaking Mickael Groussard on 0033 2.35.54.64.85 provided an emailed derogation within literally minutes.

The elderly Bernard sits on the radio and will gladly sell a lapel pin plus aerodrome sticker for the princely sum of €3 instead of a landing fee, but speaks zero English. There's a hotel / restaurant within 800m of the field which I'm told is good.
