'Olympics circuit squawk' practice weekend 5/6 May

Post by FlyOnTrack » Sat Apr 28, 2012 12:11 am

Help needed to work Olympics procedures please:-
if you have any influence at a club or airfield or strip that will be within R112 restricted zone, and aircraft fly circuits there as a task, (rather than just arrive or depart), please see if a practice on 'airfield squawks' can be run there on the weekend of 5/6th May. (R112 zone boundary is more or less that of the 3500' boundary line for the LTMA). Circuit flying and I believe overhead displays in the Olympics period in R112 will be allowed under exemption for airfields registering in advance and following a process which involves aircraft in the circuit having a squawk unique to that airfield on the day, aircraft using it with Mode C and staying within 3nm of the airfield.
A practice weekend is requested, 5th / 6th May. for airfields that will be in R112. More details, and how to register for the real thing and for this:
