Info on Willingale needed

Post by AlanR » Tue Jul 24, 2012 3:16 pm

I am helping a mate deliver a Skyranger to Willingale in Essex this weekend and need some information about the strip if anyone can help?...it doesn't appear to be listed in Lockyears or any other 'Bibles'.

I have gleaned that it is approx 350m long and grass with a slope and trees. The concrete old WW2 peri track adjacent to it is now badly broken and unuseable I understand.

Any help at all would be appreciated. Details of slope height of trees ...anything+ contact details.

Was hoping to go into North Weald but during Olympics they have raised landing fee to a whopping £30+vat....Stapleford also want £50 per landing during the Olympics!

I will be going in with a Sportcruiser (with VP prop) and coming out at max weight.

Sorry, don't normally do this kind of thing (PM instead).

Presumably you are not going to lob into a private strip without the prior permission of the Owner/Operator, are you? So you can ask for a full briefing when you contact him/her.

Cheers and apologies for the Fawlty-style ("specialist subject - the b* obvious")
