The Sywell Strut is reforming - This Wednesday!

Post by Nigel Ramsay » Mon Sep 24, 2012 4:09 pm

Hi Folks,
We are hoping to resurrect the LAA Sywell Strut! Meeting on the last Wednesday of each month at 'The Aviator' Hotel at Sywell Aerodrome, this Wednesday the 26th will be an informal 'get together' to discuss the way forward for interested parties. Although I've been charged with getting this going, I'm hoping others will come forward to help run it.

A good strut at Sywell would be a great thing and I hope there is enough interest locally to make it work, but ultimately it will be down to the members. Please note that you do NOT have to be an LAA Member to belong to an LAA strut (although it would be good if you were!).

Sywell have kindly offered 'The Club Room' adjacent to the bar for free, so we have a good starting point.

I'm hoping we can get a lively group of builders, flyers and enthusiasts involved to make it the success a Sywell Strut deserves. PM me with any questions or just turn up for 19:00 hrs in the Aviator Bar :D

Hope to see some of you there :?:

Cheers

Nigel Ramsay

Nigel,

Pity you couldn't pay for the Club Room & get the Bar free! No problem with members then.
Good luck on Wednesday.

Very well thanks Mike! We had a decent turnout for a first meeting with 12 attending, 11 of whom were LAA members. A good mix of interests and several interesting projects underway together with microlight, permit and CofA owners - an excellent start!

Next meeting will be at the Aviator - Sywell 7.30pm for 8.00pm on Wednesday 24th October. We hope to have a speaker for that evening, TBA!

Good luck from the Shobdon Strut.
It helps when the venue is on an airfield, if we can help with ideas for speakers web sites etc let me know.

I would be very interested in joining the Sywell Strut. I spend most of my time out of the country but, would like to attend strut meetings when I am home. :D
