The One Show - tonight

Due to the suspension of third party passenger flying under the auspices of the LAA, the Struts have had to find alternative means of fulfilling their members' aspirations to fly young and disadvantaged kids. Pete White, Devon Strut committee member and chairman of the Aeronca Club, set up an independent charity Feet Off the Ground (FOG) to undertake YA events in the Westcountry and South Wales. One of the links that he has forged has been with the Bader Braves http://douglasbaderfoundation.com/tag/bader-braves.

Amongst the guests at the Bader Braves Day at Bodmin last year was Nathan Doidge from Hayle in Cornwall who has had cerebal palsy from birth but who was part way through his PPL course at the time of the YA event. He was an inspiration to his fellow disabled folk by chatting to them and showing what could be done with enthusiasm and determination which encouraged the Douglas Bader Foundation to help him finish his licence. Tonight on the ‘One Show’ (BBC1 7pm) he flies with Chris Evans using his ‘new’ PPL ! - A must to watch...
