Januarys cover

Just been looking at the cracking shot on the front of the January mag. Question is why is the prop arc at the top less than the other three blades?

I guess it's the 'rolling shutter' effect as the camera sensor scans the image a line at a time.

If it's scanning left to right the effect would be to compress something moving right to left and stretch something moving left to right.

You got a similar effect on SLR film cameras due to the moving slot of a focal plane shutter.

Took this last week. I figured it must be the image sensor scanning top to bottom.

I checked, my propeller definitely isn't bent!! :)
